"Cats! The Conspurracy" Review

Imagem
Isto seria mais giro em  Português , né? ;) Cats! The Conspurracy   is an irreverent and stylish French-language RPG, recently translated into English by   Black Book Éditions .  In this universe, domestic cats are not merely pets: they are secret agents of a global feline conspiracy, fighting against dogs, vacuum cleaners, inattentive humans, and forces that threaten the balance of the world. The tone oscillates between comedic, absurd, and endearing, leaving room for thrilling or even dramatic adventures, depending on the players’ approach. Cover of "Cats! The Conspurracy". Vibrant style and feline personality from the very first glance. Concept and System The core concept is fresh and appealing, ideal for newcomers or casual sessions between veteran players. Playing as a cat (not just an anthropomorphic animal, but an actual cat, with feline senses, habits, and perceptions) requires players to abandon their human perspective and dive into an alternate world...

So, you prefer to  read in English ? ;) Cats! The Conspurracy". Estilo vibrante e personalidade felina desde o primeiro olhar. Conceito e Sistema O conceito base é refrescante e apelativo, ideal para jogadores novatos ou para sessões descomprometidas entre veteranos. Imagem
Durandal is a new RPG from Se7en Sagas , immersing players into a mythical reimagining of Charlemagne's Carolingian Empire, where history intertwines with legend. Designed by Rui Anselmo , Durandal uses diceless mechanics (borrowed from Dawnfall 's) to prioritize strategic gameplay and narrative depth. Currently funding on Gamefound , the Quickstart Edition offers a comprehensive glimpse into this intriguing RPG. Setting and Theme Durandal immerses players into a vivid blend of historical realism and mythic fantasy. Set during Charlemagne's expansive campaigns, characters such as knights, clerics, scholars, and mystics engage in epic conflicts, moral dilemmas, and encounters with divine and arcane forces. This thematic tension provides fertile ground for profound storytelling and character-driven drama. "Dawnfall: Aitechnocene" Review

Imagem
Dawnfall: Aitechnocene  is a post-apocalyptic TTRPG from Se7en Sagas where players become survivors in a world overrun by artificial intelligence. This quickstart guide introduces the game's unique diceless mechanics, emphasizing narrative, player choices, and resource management including skills, advantages, and characters' passions. There's even this Effort counters you can download for free and give the game a go. The scenario The Water Dilemma  involves players in moral and strategic dilemmas about scarce resource distribution, highlighting the importance of decisions in a challenging survival setting. However, the irreverent author Rui Anselmo made a risky and no less controversial move by using AI to produce not only the art but also the writing of the game .  A Máquina do RPG does not endorse the use of AI to produce any content that can be sold or financed. However, it is not Máquina's place to judge, but rather to bring discussion and encourage lateral thin...

"Bad Tidings" Review

Imagem
Isto seria mais giro em  Português , né? ;) A Máquina do RPG loves premieres! This time, it's  Orlando Moreira 's debut in the realm of TTRPG scenario publication, specifically with  Bad Tidings  for  Call of Cthulhu  ( CoC ), the ultimate cosmic horror game! The setting takes place in the outskirts of Aveiro in 1937 and is digitally published under  The Miskatonic Repository  license. Comme d'habitude  with A Máquina do RPG , let's start with the cover! The effective cover of Bad Tidings  has all the right vibes worthy of a Call of Cthulhu cover! Both the cover and the layout of Bad Tidings  were handled by veteran  Alex Guillotte . The cover is dark, mysterious, and effectively captures the theme of the scenario, albeit not very original. Not to diminish its excellent execution, but it's the typical cover that could appear in practically any other CoC scenario. As for the layout, it is perfectly consistent with the graphic...

So, you prefer to  read in English ? ;) A Máquina do RPG  adora estreias!

"Demon Ninja" Review

Imagem
Isto seria mais giro em Português , né? ;) This time A Máquina do RPG brings you a review of Demon Ninja , the TTRPG of survival and military horror set in a " fictional medieval era Japan cursed by an epidemic of parasitic tentacles, war, demons, and deadly shinobi ". It's always difficult for me to review an RPG with a theme inspired by feudal Japan. My samurai RPG references are   Legend of the Five Rings   and  Blood & Honor  (both from the brilliant John Wick); or in the case of ninjas (albeit in a modern setting),  Shinobigami   (in my Top 2 best TTRPGs of all time). So, a very high bar. (A Máquina do RPG itself has on hiatus, somewhere in a forgotten drawer, a draft of its  Solorized Ninjæ , that aims to be the ultimate stealth TTRPG!) Therefore, if on the one hand I am passionate about everything involving ninjas and samurai, on the other hand it gives me a keen critical sense in the face of aesthetics and values that are dear to me. Con...
